Sugar.
I think the phrase ” I’ve got a sweet tooth” has been an excuse used by millions of people including me for many, many years and until 2007 when I met Dr Huggins it was a justifiable reason to have a “Milky Way” or some other delicious chocolate.
As I said that was the case until the masses of sugar and the damage it causes, note I said “causes” not could potentially cause was explained to me.
I’m sure there are some that will say things like ” I can eat what I like and it doesn’t affect me” well that might seem like the case on the surface but inside, the inner workings of your body will be affected and it’s only a matter of time before the effects materialise as physical symptoms in one form or another.
The immediate and often seen as “it’s just life” symptoms like weight gain can be ignored but in reality it’s slowly but surely creating irreversible problems.
All carbohydrate will be converted in the body to sugar which in turn is converted to triglycerides if not used as energy. There’s a very complex process which I’ll not bore you with for this to happen.
Triglycerides then reside in convenient places around your body such as your hips, thighs and one or two other places.
Ok that’s the obvious visible problem but for those that are lucky enough to not see this visible effect there’s the other problem that does affect everyone regardless of your body weight or lack of it.
Sugar/ sugars have a damaging effect on two components of your body chemistry. This is a simple fact… it’s not open to opinion or bias it’s a fact regardless of your age, race or gender.
The two components are calcium and phosphorus, a healthy body will see a ratio of 2.5 to 1 with calcium and phosphorus. When this ratio is knocked out of balance it will cause specific problems such as: Cataracts in your eyes, Calculus on your teeth, Kidney stones, Gall stones, Arthritis and Arteriosclerosis.
Millions will see a doctor who makes suggestions to follow and a pharmaceutical drug, but as I’ve said a million times (not quite) drugs treat symptoms they don’t address the cause.
Sugar is a sweet poison…
Don’t be mislead into thinking it’s not really a problem, it might not be obvious now to you or your kids but the Fact is.. Sugar is a killer.
