Life changing..

Posted by: admin  /  Category: Health

Yesterday, which was Saturday I watched a movie called War Room, I knew nothing about it before it started but it was nothing like I expected based on the title, in fact it was totally the opposite.

Some movies can have a life-changing impact on the watcher and this was  just one of those movies. It’s strange because none of the characters in the movie were played by actors I knew of, so I wasn’t Influenced by someone I knew or respected or liked.

I’m not going to go into the storyline just in case you want to watch it but I will say that the theme of the film and the message it gave was one that has quite simply changed my life for the better .

It made me think long and hard about what I’m doing and the way I’m living my life. I think there are certain people that will love this movie especially my friends Dottie and Steve Kuehle.

Taking my own advice..

Posted by: admin  /  Category: Health

The frustrating part of being me is that deep down I am Stefan the guy who’s been to more than 20 countries around the world, done sport’s that most others will say is on their bucket list but in reality will never do. I was the Client service director for the world leading authority on biological dentistry and mercury toxicity…..but, but 99% of the time my body doesn’t give a crap about been there done that…

Instead it reacts to a so called incurable life threatening disease by overpowering my mind and limiting my physical abilities. However being the son of an amazing German born woman that came through the 2nd world war, had  7 kids and 3 husbands it sort of makes me a tad arrogant when it comes to what I’m supposed to be. I see myself as a man that will one day skydive again, will run again and will hike again in the beautiful Rocky Mountains.

So yes it is a little frustrating in some ways being physically restricted….temporarily. I know I sometimes ignore my own advice, advice I’ve shared with thousands of others, people that respected who and what I was and knew. People, not just patients and clients but medical professionals as well.

So I’ll persevere down this road and stop being defensive and frustrated and just get on with the task of getting better.

The ignoring of my knowledge is ridiculous but understandable in some ways. Prior to coming back to England, although it was very limiting financially and worrying for the same reason. I maintained the limiting of bad foods even though I wasn’t able to have “treats” such as nicer gluten free foods.

Since I’ve been back and with my disability benefits I’ve been able to buy food, not just gluten free staples but also some that I should really avoid.

That all changes today as I have to “walk, the walk, not just talk the talk”, I’m back on a alternate daily mini fast.

The fasting is quite easy for me in that it’s not difficult for me to actually just miss a meal. Each day during the week I have two meals a day one in the morning and at lunchtime the following day lunchtime and evening this way my body reacts better.

I say better but when I mean is that I don’t have the negative effects from eating as so many of the foods now have very little actual nutrition in them and several of them have additives which although I’m not necessarily aware of them at the time seem to affect me quite badly.

As I’ve said before the fact is that we eat or we used to eat because we needed the nutrition but because of the changes in the way food is grown and produced and because of the herbicides and pesticides and genetically modified organisms in the food nowadays there is very little nutrition actually in them.

I’m very lucky now knowing that I’m able to take supplements with all of the nutrition, the minerals, vitamins, amino acids and essential fatty acids that my body needs on a daily basis.

Clever advertising…

Posted by: admin  /  Category: Health

I say clever but what I mean is that the advertising companies are fully prepared to lie and mislead you in order to sell crap posing as healthy nutritious food. Don’t be fooled into thinking “fat free” is good for you because it’s not especially when it’s LOADED with sugar..

I am always surprised, no, shocked by the way food companies can blatantly lie to the public about foods that are supposedly healthy when in reality are the exact opposite. Case in point is to do with yogurt that is claiming to help you indulge in a healthy treat by being “fat free” and helping you to lose weight.

OK they are telling you something that is partly true, yes it is fat free but it’s not healthy. Reducing the fat is not actually good, eliminating Trans fats is good but the fact is the body needs healthy fats for a multitude of reasons. The advertisers constantly harp on about cholesterol as being the number 1 reason for heart attacks which is another blatant lie. Cholesterol is truly helpful for the body, 25% of the dry weight of the brain is cholesterol, 23% of the cell membrane of the red blood cells is cholesterol, without it the cells couldn’t flex and contort to get through the miniscule capillaries which would result in heart attack or stroke.

Another lie and possibly the worst is that yes it is fat free but what they aren’t saying is that it’s high in sugar and sugar is the worst of the worst, sugar is as addictive as cocaine,

All carbohydrates are converted into sugar in the body, some sugar is then used as energy, there’s a very complicated process that takes place and when done correctly and enables the body to burn up sugars. But the excess sugar is converted into triglycerides and are stored, not always but often around the hips and belly resulting in the often seen and referred to “Love handles” and “Front butt”.

If one looks at the average body shape of men and women today then compare to the average of men and women 50 years ago you’ll notice huge differences. Yes there were overweight people but not as many, now it seems perfectly acceptable to be not just a few pounds or kilos overweight but a couple of stones or 20 kilos overweight. Now it’s considered normal to be unhealthy and natural to be taking medicines for the allergy or sniffle or constant headache.

I think a very large percentage of people seem to think that it’s acceptable to not feel good.

Just look around you, take a few minutes to think about your family and friends, are there some that you think of as nice people but a little strange because they don’t eat or drink the same as you, they have to eat “special foods” or don’t drink Coke, I mean who doesn’t drink Coke… Then consider if they seem to be healthy, you might say yes they are slim or not overweight but I’d rather eat and drink what I like, when I like not be so fussy.

Well by avoiding the sugar laden foods and drink you aren’t putting your body under great stress and enabling it to do what it was designed to do and not be constantly battling with the crap being shovelled into your body.

Your body sends you a signal to let you know when it needs food, the problem that’s developed over the years is that very little foods have actual nutrition in them. The body sends you the signal which should be that it needs nutrition not just bulk to fill your belly. You then eat something tasty that fills you and quells the desire but in reality it’s not had what it needs, nutritious foods so a short time passes and you eat again and wonder why you gain weight.

I’m a strong believer in how the nutrition in foods have steadily been depleted, partly through farming techniques and the developments made by the pharmaceutical giants. There is so much money to be made by using cheaper materials, fillers etc to bulk up the size and weight of foods. The public think they’re getting more for their money and see these things as bargains when in reality the quality of the food is so inferior to 50 years ago. Then people spend a little to buy a product that has apparently been “enriched” but all it is is it hasn’t had as much nutrition removed, if the nutrition naturally found in natural organically grown foods were still there, the people of this world would live far healthier lives. This is a problem for Food, Pharmaceutical, Insurance, Medical, Advertising  and Insurance giants that make ridiculous and disgusting profits from the ill health of mankind.

Awareness..

Posted by: admin  /  Category: Health

I sometimes wonder about why I got MS,  did I do something wrong ? was I a bad person? no I don’t think so, it just happened I think primarily because I had dental treatment that put a lot of mercury in my body. Mercury Is the most toxic non radioactive substance on Earth,  the Mercury came from the fillings in my teeth.

Having a MS is not a nice thing but I’ve accepted it and realised that I have to do certain things to make my life more acceptable.

So over the time since I was diagnosed I have been able to look at things in a different way and be more conscious of my surroundings, of my food, I don’t just accept things any more and I’m more  into critical thinking, so I look at things, I look at the way things are put together and look at the  ingredients in foods and I think of how that may affect me.

I’ve definitely become more aware of the consequences of eating certain foods.

I have to drink around 4 litres of water each day starting with a litre when I first wake up. That water has organic lemon in it which again is a beneficial ingredient and sets me up for the rest of the day.

If I don’t drink the amount of water I become extremely weak making it very difficult for me to even stand let alone walk.

But I’m not bitter, I’m not mad, I’m not frustrated and not depressed I just look at things in a different way and accept that it’s all down to what I do, it’s down to me and no one else I don’t take medication I just take natural supplements which I’ve learnt about over the years from my time with Dr Huggins and the study I’ve done since.

My body seems to react badly when I eat a lot of food so it’s come down now to only eating twice a day and as I’ve mentioned  before, the food is not the most important thing it’s the nutrition in the food and because farming has changed over the years it means that there is less and less nutrition in actual foods that you purchase, so the best thing to do is to buy organic foods and prepare them yourself.
